December 11, 2025, I travelled to Encore Boston Harbor with my friend Peter the night before I had a final exam and profited. I bought in for $300 and cashed out for over $600. I met a nice old Italian man. He liked to talk my ear off and was a little too comfortable with me. I was glad he didn’t last the whole night. I slow-rolled a torta by accident. I called her all in, I made her show first, and she had two pair; Queens and Jacks, and for a second I thought that beat my two pair, Kings and Duces. I quickly appologized and there were no hard feelings. The table was talking about Vegas, specifically when the best time to go is. They said winter is the most enjoyable time because of the heat, but they also mentioned that the city swells up in July because of the World Series of Poker being held then. This is when I was introduced to Handsome Dave by a superstitious old asian lady. As he sat down, she sighed and said, “he talk too much.” Handsome Dave was a big fat dealer with strict rules, like no phones at the table while in a hand and no other languages other than English at the table. HD has a polarizing personality, which I found annoying, but it made the game interesting, and he even rolled my chips to me when I would win a pot.
